Kayak Fishing Book by Jon Shein

Kayak fishing has come of age and here’s by far  the most complete book about this exciting sport.  The author has one of the broadest backgrounds fishing from a kayak. Early on he recognized the potential and created the first retail establishment that specialized in kayak anglers. He personally outfitted hundreds of kayaks, supervised thousands and sold kayaks and accessories worldwide. Jon has fished from over 55 different kayak models and has caught more than 75 different species of fish all over the North American continent from Alaska to the Caribbean to Baja to New England. He’s done so using spin, fly and conventional gear both with artificial and bait in locales as diverse as small hike in lakes to blue water. He’s worked as a guide and with companies in both designing and improving products. He’s authored hundreds of articles and has over 20,000 message board posts. It’s a complete resume and Kayak Fishing reflects this. This is the book nobody else could have written. This is the one must have book for anyone who’s presently involved, considering or curious about kayak fishing.

The kayak fishing community might just be the fastest growing segment of the sport fishing world, and few are more plugged into this community than Jon Shein.  Kayak Fishing is undoubtedly the most thorough treatment of this topic ever created, and is a must-read for anyone with so much as a passing interest in the sport. Shein pulls from years of involvement in the kayak fishing industry, and a perspective that can only be achieved after countless hours on the water. This book’s ample technical detail is interspersed with plenty of first-hand storytelling, and Shein’s colloquial writing style makes it a refreshing read.  Soon, our bays, rivers, ponds and oceans will be full of “kayak anglers”, and this book will have had much to do with that.
